Description
These cast bends are what we use to construct a turbo manifold. We offer them as an alternative to paying someone for your manifold. If you are handy with the welder, grab a bunch of these and have a go yourself ! We have a helpful article here which may give you some handy tips to build your own.
They come in various diameters, simply pick from the drop down menu the angle and quantity. They are mild steel.
The bends come in the following:-
- 1-1/4″ in 45°, 90° in short radius and long radius and 180° in long radius. These are approximately 35mm I.D. and 3.6mm wall thickness.
- 1-1/2″ in 45°, 90° in short radius and long radius and 180° in long radius. These are approximately 40mm I.D. and 3.6mm wall thickness.
- 2″ in 45°, 90° in short radius and long radius and 180° in long radius. These are approximately 51mm I.D. and 3.6mm wall thickness.
- 2-1/2″ in 45°, 90° in short radius and long radius and 180° in long radius. These are approximately 65mm I.D. and 3.6mm wall thickness.
We generally use 1-1/4″ for most 4/6/8 cylinder manifolds, with some benefiting from the 1-1/2″ if they have a large turbo etc. We generally use 1-1/2″ as a minimum for rotaries, again using the larger 2″ if they are a race engine and/or large turbo. The 2″ and 2-1/2″ are used for turbo entry, after the collector, when doing a proper wastegate setup.
We also have have expanders/reducers which can be helpful to step large ports to the selected pipe bend.
We don’t offer the stainless ones, as they are made from 316 stainless, which is not ideal for a turbo manifold. If stainless is what you are after, we recommend 321 stainless.
